Course Description

An introduction to methods of sociological research. Provides students with basic understanding of how to conduct and evaluate scientific research in the social sciences. Course topics follow the major steps in design and execution of social research from definition of the problem and formulation of hypotheses to interpretation of results and preparation of final report. Qualitative and quantitative methodologies are introduced.
