Course Description

Measurement of economic activity, inflation and joblessness. Aggregate production and distribution of national income, demand for consumption, investment and government activity, and analysis of models of short run equilibrium in goods and financial markets. Money, inflation and the interest rate. International flows of capital and goods. Determinants of unemployment. Accumulation of capital, technological progress and long run growth. Business cycles, aggregate demand and aggregate supply. Fiscal and monetary policy, government debt and budget deficits.
